Le Morne Cultural Landscape — UNESCO
UNESCO cultural landscape commemorating the enslaved people who took refuge on Le Morne's cliffs — a symbol of freedom.
The undersea walk experience at Grand Baie allows non-swimmers and non-divers to walk on the seabed at 3–4 metres depth wearing a weighted helmet fed by surface air supply. Participants walk among reef fish, touch sea cucumbers, and have fish swim directly to their face — an extraordinary experience accessible to virtually everyone from age 8 upward. The 20-minute underwater walk is conducted in the calm, clear water of the Grand Baie lagoon. No swimming ability is required and hair stays completely dry.
