Bringing pets to Mauritius
📋 Import requirements
- 1.Import permit from the Mauritius Ministry of Agro-Industry (apply 3–4 months in advance)
- 2.Microchip (ISO standard 15-digit)
- 3.Vaccinations: rabies (must be administered after microchipping), plus core vaccines for dogs/cats
- 4.Rabies titre test (blood test confirming sufficient antibody levels — done minimum 3 months before travel)
- 5.Veterinary health certificate from an official vet in the country of origin, endorsed by the national authority
- 6.Quarantine: mandatory 21 days at the Quatre Bornes Veterinary Quarantine Station
