Health
Healthcare in Mauritius
Mauritius has a world-class private healthcare sector alongside a free public system. The main private hospitals — Wellkin, C-Care Clinique Darné, Fortis Clinique Darné — offer modern facilities and internationally trained specialists. Medical tourism is common, with patients travelling from neighbouring islands for specialist care.
Education
Schools & Education
Mauritius has an excellent education system, with both state and private schools teaching in English and French. A growing number of international schools — IB, British and French curriculum — cater to the expat community. Higher education is provided by the University of Mauritius and several private institutions.

Pets
Bringing Your Pet to Mauritius
Mauritius has strict pet import rules designed to protect the island's endemic wildlife. Dogs and cats must be microchipped, vaccinated against rabies, and treated for internal and external parasites. A period of quarantine at the Mauritius APHA-approved facility is required. Allow 3-6 months to prepare all paperwork before travel.
