Le Morne Cultural Landscape — UNESCO
UNESCO cultural landscape commemorating the enslaved people who took refuge on Le Morne's cliffs — a symbol of freedom.
Operating from the east coast at Belle Mare, Tekoma Diving Centre gives divers access to the island's pristine eastern reef system, which sees far less traffic than the more popular north and west coast sites. Coral coverage on the eastern reef is exceptional — staghorn, brain, and table corals dominate, and visibility regularly exceeds 30 metres. The centre runs PADI courses, fun dives for certified divers, and Discover Scuba programmes for absolute beginners in the protected lagoon.
