Le Morne Cultural Landscape — UNESCO
UNESCO cultural landscape commemorating the enslaved people who took refuge on Le Morne's cliffs — a symbol of freedom.
Parasailing over Grand Baie's turquoise lagoon gives a bird's-eye view of the island's spectacular north coast — the coral reef patterns, the white sand beaches, and the hills of the interior all spread below. Operators on the Grand Baie waterfront run tandem and solo flights, lifting passengers 150 metres above the water on a 10-minute flight. No experience is required — passengers are launched and retrieved directly from the boat without getting wet. A GoPro footage package is offered by most operators. The flight coincides naturally with a full north coast watersports day.
