Le Morne Cultural Landscape — UNESCO
UNESCO cultural landscape commemorating the enslaved people who took refuge on Le Morne's cliffs — a symbol of freedom.
The Heritage Golf Club at Bel Ombre is consistently ranked among the top five courses in Africa and is the finest 18-hole layout in Mauritius. Designed by Peter Alliss and Rodney Wright and subsequently enhanced by Ernie Els, the course plays along the cliff edge above the Indian Ocean, with several signature ocean-view holes and protected endemic forest lining the fairways. The par-72 course plays to 6,235 metres from the back tees and is open to both resort guests and visiting golfers by prior booking. The clubhouse, built on a restored sugar mill, is one of the most atmospheric in world golf.
