Le Morne Cultural Landscape — UNESCO
UNESCO cultural landscape commemorating the enslaved people who took refuge on Le Morne's cliffs — a symbol of freedom.
Eureka is a magnificent 18th-century Creole colonial mansion in Moka that has been meticulously restored to its 1830s grandeur and opened to the public as a living museum. The house contains 109 doors and original Creole furniture, silverware, and artwork alongside a collection of colonial-era objects. Guided tours narrate the life of the French colonial planter family who built the house, while the estate's cascading river and tropical garden provide a beautiful setting for post-tour exploration. A traditional Creole lunch served on the riverside terrace is an exceptional addition.
