Le Morne Cultural Landscape — UNESCO
UNESCO cultural landscape commemorating the enslaved people who took refuge on Le Morne's cliffs — a symbol of freedom.
The Bois Chéri tea estate in the south of Mauritius has been producing premium tea since 1892 and offers one of the island's most educational and enjoyable half-day tours. The guided visit takes in the tea factory where leaves are processed through withering, rolling, drying, and sorting before packaging, followed by a walk through the estate's hillside tea fields with panoramic views across the southern hills to the coast. A tasting session in the elevated restaurant includes Bois Chéri's flavoured teas — vanilla, mint, and bergamot — alongside a light Mauritian lunch.
