About
Blue Bay Marine Park near Mahebourg is officially recognised as one of the world's finest marine reserves and the best snorkelling site in the Indian Ocean. Over 50 species of hard coral and 72 species of fish have been recorded in the park's protected lagoon, and the coral gardens are in excellent health thanks to strict conservation management. Glass-bottomed boats, snorkel guides, and equipment hire are all available at the beach. The water is calm, shallow, and crystal clear year-round, making it ideal for all ages. Boat access to the outer reef is recommended for seeing the best coral formations.
