Port Louis Waterfront Food Market
Mauritius's most vibrant street food hub: dholl puri, roti, dim sum, and fresh coconut at the historic harbour…
La Spiaggia is Constance Belle Mare Plage's casual answer to barefoot luxury dining — a restaurant where you can arrive in a sarong, eat handmade tagliatelle with black truffle, and stare at one of the finest beaches in the Indian Ocean between courses. The setting is deliberately informal for a five-star property: wicker furniture, candles stuck in wine bottles, sand between the table legs. But the cooking is careful and technically accomplished, overseen by an Italian chef who makes all pasta in-house daily. The carbonara is a purist's version — guanciale, Pecorino Romano, egg yolk, nothing else — and the pappardelle with ragù of local venison is a dish that earns repeat visits. A wood-fired oven handles the pizzas and whole fish: a Neapolitan margherita charred just right, a whole sea bass roasted with lemon, rosemary, and Isle of Man sea salt. The wine list is short and deliberately Italian — Barolo, Gavi, and a Sicilian red that goes well with the venison. Lunch is the easier reservation (dinner books up fast with hotel guests), and the afternoon light on the Belle Mare beach makes post-lunch lingering nearly impossible to resist. La Spiaggia is a reminder that a resort restaurant needn't be generic.
