Dave's Pharmacy
Formerly Nautica Pharmacy — same trusted team, same great service
A well-established community pharmacy trusted by expats and locals across Mauritius for international medications, prescription dispensing, and personalised care.
About Dave's Pharmacy
Dave's Pharmacy — known for many years as Nautica Pharmacy — is one of Mauritius's most trusted community pharmacies. The pharmacy has built a loyal following among both the expat community and long-term local residents, known for its reliable stock of international medications, knowledgeable staff, and the kind of personalised service that is increasingly rare in pharmacy chains.
The pharmacy operates with a fully qualified pharmacist team experienced in advising on both prescription and over-the-counter treatments. For expats arriving from the UK, France, South Africa, or elsewhere, sourcing familiar brands and equivalents can be a challenge — Dave's Pharmacy is one of the go-to places on the island for exactly this.
The transition from Nautica Pharmacy to Dave's Pharmacy brought a new name but retained everything that made the original so valued: the same staff, the same commitment to stock quality, and the same approachable, community-focused service that has made it a fixture in the lives of so many Mauritius residents.

Sourcing international medications in Mauritius
One of the most common concerns for expats moving to Mauritius is access to their regular medications. The good news is that Mauritius has a well-regulated pharmacy sector and most international medications are available — either as the original brand or a bioequivalent generic.
If you take a regular prescription medication from your home country, it is worth visiting Dave's Pharmacy early in your relocation to check availability and establish a relationship with the pharmacist team. Bringing a supply from your home country to cover the initial months is advisable, along with copies of your prescriptions and a letter from your doctor.
For medications not routinely stocked, pharmacies in Mauritius can often order directly from international suppliers. Speak to the pharmacist about lead times and costs.

Expat tip
Bring at least 3 months' supply of any critical medication when you relocate, plus copies of your prescriptions and a letter from your GP explaining your treatment. This gives you time to establish supply in Mauritius without any gaps.
