Tamassa Bel Ombre
Tamassa Bel Ombre is a vibrant all-inclusive resort nestled along a pristine white-sand beach in Mauritius' southwest.…
C Mauritius stands at the northern end of the east coast, near the fishing village of Roches Noires, on a stretch of beach that remains refreshingly undeveloped compared with the grand resort corridor further south. The hotel's design is consciously casual — beach club meets boutique hotel — with whitewashed walls, driftwood installations, and a general air of barefoot chic that suits its younger, design-conscious clientele. Suites and studios are thoughtfully arranged: the upper-floor units have ocean-facing balconies wide enough for breakfast, while ground-floor garden rooms have direct access to the lawn that runs down to the sand. The east coast trade winds arrive reliably from mid-May to October, making this stretch of coast a kite-surfing corridor; C Mauritius has an arrangement with a local IKO school operating from the beach. Dining at the restaurant SHORE keeps pace with the style of the place — fresh ceviche, tuna carpaccio, grilled lobster with chilli butter — and the bar stays lively into the evening, particularly on weekends when Mauritians from Flacq drive in for sundowners. The pool is long enough to swim laps and faces directly toward the reef. What C Mauritius offers that the larger east coast properties cannot is the sense of being somewhere with a personality and a crowd rather than a product. It works especially well as a base for those who want kite-surfing by day and good food and music by night.
