The Links is a golf course located in the east coast of Mauritius, part of Mauritius' growing reputation as one of the premier golf destinations in Africa and the Indian Ocean.
Mauritius now has over a dozen golf courses — more per capita than almost any other destination in sub-Saharan Africa. The island's combination of year-round tropical climate (minimum 24°C), spectacular scenery, and investment from international hotel groups has attracted leading course designers and established Mauritius as a destination for golf-focused travel.
Golf is playable every day of the year in Mauritius. The best months are June–September, when the south-east trade winds reduce temperatures, clear the air, and provide ideal conditions for outdoor sport. The summer months (December–March) are hotter and more humid, though cyclone disruptions to play are rare. Cyclone warnings — when they occur — lead to course closures for safety.
Most golf courses in Mauritius are attached to resort hotels and offer guests priority tee times. Non-guests can typically play at resort courses subject to availability — advance booking is strongly recommended during peak season (June–September). Green fees at resort courses range from EUR 80–180 per round. A growing number of more affordable courses cater to local residents and budget-conscious visitors.
Caddies are available at most courses; some have mandatory caddie programmes. Rental clubs and buggy hire are standard. Golf carts are required at some courses — Mauritius' volcanic terrain includes significant elevation changes on several layouts.
