Bal Masqué Event Venue

Bal Masqué is Port Louis's most atmospheric rooftop event venue, drawing its name and visual identity from the original Bal Masqué celebrations of colonial Mauritius — the masked balls and formal soirées that defined high society in the capital during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The venue translates that cultural heritage into a contemporary setting that is both sophisticated and genuinely individual.

The main event space accommodates up to 180 guests in a standing cocktail configuration, with seated dinner formats suitable for 80 to 100 guests in a more intimate arrangement. The interior combines bold artwork, layered textiles, dramatic lighting, and rotating installations by Mauritian and regional artists. The visual character of the space changes meaningfully between events — providing a genuinely fresh backdrop rather than the neutral event room monotony found at most venues.

The terrace is one of the most distinctive outdoor spots in Port Louis. Positioned to maximise the rooftop elevation, it delivers panoramic views across the city skyline, with the Caudan Waterfront and the waters of the harbour visible in the distance. Sunset drinks sessions on the terrace — as the capital's lights begin to come on and the energy of the working day gives way to the evening — create an atmosphere that is genuinely difficult to replicate elsewhere in Port Louis.

The bar programme centres on a resident mixologist whose seasonal cocktail menu gives deliberate prominence to Mauritian rum heritage. Aged local rums from estates including New Grove and Chamarel feature prominently in house cocktails, rum punches, and long drinks.
