The seven-coloured earths of Chamarel display seven distinct colours: red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple, and yellow. The colours result from volcanic basalt rock cooling at different rates. Despite being open to the elements the colours do not mix. The adjacent Chamarel waterfall drops 100 metres into a gorge. The site is managed as a private nature park with viewpoints, walking trails, and waterfall path.
