About Big Game Fishing
The waters off the west coast drop to over 2,000 metres just a few kilometres from shore. Black River is the main departure point, and Mauritius consistently ranks among the world's top big game fishing destinations. Prime season runs November to April when blue marlin are most active. Yellow-fin tuna can be caught year-round, as can wahoo and mahi-mahi. Most boats operate a tag-and-release policy for billfish.
